Broods

This week I had a chance to see Georgia's crazy cool dance moves live when I saw Broods perform at The Forum. I'm sure many of you have heard their song Bridges on the radio but if you haven't checked out their debut EP Evergreen, I highly recommend you do so immediately.

Sportsgirl Project

For the RMIT young essentials project, our group worked with Sportsgirl as our industry partner. Throughout our year of study we worked on the brief of designing a catwalk inspired range for the spring/summer '14 season. We designed this range 'Neoteric Love' after developing a trend research book for SS14 and combining the main trends which we believed best suited the Sportsgirl customer.

Visual Merchandising

As part of the marketing plan, we developed a Sportsgirl app to coincide with our campaign and range.
We created two promotional videos for our final presentation to Sportsgirl. The first one describes the concept of our Love Inc app and its various tabs.

For the second video we utilised three team members being on international exchange, sending love messages across the different cities via the Love Inc app.

Platform 2

We went for a stroll around beautiful Emerald Lake, passing by the only original station intact on the historic Puffing Billy line. Usually filled with tourists, the platform remained unexpectedly quiet on this afternoon. This polka dot midi skirt is so comfortable and flattering with its fluted style and side pockets.

Rocking The Runway - Behind The Scenes

As part of Breast cancer awareness month, Frankies organised a fundraising runway event with profits going towards the cause. Rocking the runway in hot pink bobs, the models wore the new basics collection available at Frankies boutique along with the launch of a new range designed by my friend Denver Styles. The samples for Denver's range are currently instore and other sizes are available for pre-order.

I worked behind the scenes for the night, helping with dressing the models. I'm wearing a perforated leatherette dress by Ladakh available on The Iconic.

Cocktails & Canapes

The Wolf and I Windsor hosted an intimate blogger dinner a couple of weeks ago, offering us a taste of their menu and some delicious cocktails. We got an exclusive look at the new up stairs rooms and bar area, which is available for booking on their website.

QUINOA SALAD

roasted pumpkin, sunflower seeds, danish feta, candied walnuts, parsley and basil pesto dressing

I wore this leopard print shift by the fifth label, available here from Fashion Bunker. It's no secret I love animal prints and consider them a wardrobe staple, especially in black and white tones. The shift style features a deep back keyhole and slight flare, making it even more flattering and easier to purchase online.

Frankies

Last month to launch the spring season, I headed up to Frankies Boutique in Warrandyte along with Denver Styles to shoot our favourite looks.
We photographed in the beautiful surroundings of Frankies, located directly across from the Yarra River.

I chose this top and skirt because I love the mesh fabric, giving that sporty vibe while still being feminine from the silhouette and floral print detail on the perfume bottle. I also believe the mesh overlay skirt is one of the key trend items for this spring summer season and an edgy alternative to the lace midi skirt from my previous post.

Spring Fashion Week Style

I would say that lace is back but honestly did it ever leave us? One of my first ever blog posts four years ago was discussing the trend of black lace. In years gone by the trend has matured with us, with silhouettes changing to a much more wearable midi length for this Spring. A much classier length while still showing a little skin, it's the perfect balance.

For Melbourne Spring Fashion Week I wore this look from Bardot with heels from Wittner. The Lumi heel features laser cut details in black suede and a comfortable heel height for a day in the city.

Thank you so much to Luke from Turbine Pictures for these photographs.

Finley Lane

Graffiti filled Finley Lane was the perfect setting for Nixi Killick to introduce her new collection during MSFW. Complete with lighting installations, art projections and of course the colourful crowd of guests, the laneway was turned into a vibrant futuristic world.

Members of the colourtribe stood out amongst the tones of black which Melbourne is typically known for.
Not being one to mix prints with prints, I wore this gold glitter leopard top by Paint It Red paired with a Minkpink leather look skirt and my signature red nails and lipstick.

Nixi Killick

Melbourne based designer Nixi Killick has come a long way since representing RMIT at last years National Graduate Showcase. With excitement built after Lady Gaga wore her designs for her new tour brochure, the turnout for this laneway event was extraordinary and possibly unexpected, with guests crowding in to get a glimpse of the vibrant and colourful designs. The collection featured bold digitally designed prints layered with sculptured art pieces, extravagant accessories and wearable harnesses.
