Hey I'm Maddie. I launched Little Black Beau in 2010 while working at Sportsgirl as a casual stylist and sales assistant, wanting a platform to explore the current fashion trends and share my personal style.
I've recently graduated from the Associate Degree of Fashion and Textile Merchandising at RMIT, with a wide range of subjects to prepare us for working within the fashion industry.
These included trend forecasting, product development, marketing, fashion
branding, visual merchandising, distribution & logistics, IT fashion illustration, merchandise maths and planning.
This year I'm continuing my studies at RMIT in the Bachelor of Fashion (Merchandise Management), while working as a sales assistant at Bardot.
With a focus on the Australian retail industry and commercial fashion brands, Little Black Beau explores how trends trickle down from international designers to retailers everywhere. Also sharing my own photographs from Melbourne retail/fashion events, my outfits and inspiration from art, music and culture.
What is Beau?
Pronounced as 'Bow', Beau is French for beautiful or handsome while also being one of my given birth names. Not to be confused with a boyfriend or lover.
A bow reflects my style of being feminine, structured and classic while still having a slight edge.
