Chadstone Trend Edit

As mentioned in my previous post, Chadstone held their Spring Summer '14 trend edit with special guests Olivia Palermo and her husband Johannes. Joined by designers Jacqui Demkiw from White Suede and Helen O'Connor from Thurley, the group took us through their key looks for the new season.

Olivia mentioned how much she loves Australian designers, including Sass and Bide, Willow, Manning Cartell and of course White Suede and Thurley. Here is Olivia's Australian designer edit. She also mentioned the dress she wore for the Icons Of Style photoshoot was by Thurley, which was incredibly special for her since she was photographed by her husband.

Every season Thurley offer beautiful feminine pieces, with Helen stating she loves to incorporate lace and embellishment details. The most interesting point was the feature for this last dress, she chose to use the trim as the main fabrication, creating a unique summer look.

Jacqui explained her must have is stretch leather, with this being prominent throughout the range.

Monochrome

This year Olivia Palermo returns as the face for Chadstones Icons of Style, alongside her new husband Johannes. On Friday evening Chadstone hosted their Australian designer trend edit with Olivia taking us through her picks for the Spring Summer '14 season. I'll share further insights to the night in an upcoming post. 

During the interview, Olivia stated one of her key items is a blazer. Fortunately at the time I was wearing this crisp white blazer from Bardot. I was always fearful of wearing white in the past but I've realised it can be worth the risk and if chosen for the right events can magically stay clean. 
Note: Best not to wear white anywhere that involves alcohol.

Icons Of Style

One of my all-time favourite style inspirations Olivia Palermo visited Chadstone, as the first face for Icons of Style. The evening presented Spring/Summer '13 looks from the various Chadstone brands. With Olivia sitting front row, it was an exciting evening full of her fans and fabulous spring fashion.

Sex & The City Style

This month Chadstone brings Sex and the City style right to you with an exhibition by costume stylist Patricia Field. Outfits from both Sex and the City films, plus a very special dress from the series were featured. I'm sure we all remember the episode in Paris, with Carrie wearing this Versace Couture dress. The exhibition will be at Chadstone until the end of March, in the luxury section so if you're in Melbourne make sure you head to Chadstone to have a look...seeing these in person is a must!

Model castings usually require the blank canvas look, so the Australia's next top model auditions were full of natural gorgeous girls. Most looks consisted of one key piece toned down with a great basic and paired with heels. Here's some of the style snaps from the Chadstone, Melbourne audition days.

Australia's Next Top Model Auditions

It's been over a year without any of my Australia's next top model fix, so I'm excited the show is returning this year. Auditions have been held all over the country over the past two weeks and finished off at Chadstone on Tuesday and Wednesday. This season welcomes a fresh face as host, the very well known Jennifer Hawkins who sat alongside Charlotte Dawson and IMG model scouts.

Jaime Lee For Sportsgirl

Jaime Lee has been bringing Kimbras colourful and quirky stage outfits to life for the past year, now her loud yet feminine pieces have hit Sportsgirl stores. Shown here at the Chadstone store, the collection includes 8 pieces which have been selling quickly. You can purchase them online here under the Jaime Lee tab.

Exciting news was announced yesterday! The next Sportsgirl designer collaboration will be House of Holland hitting stores in March next year. Have a sneak peek here.

Sportsgirl Retro Parlour

This month the vintage section at Sportsgirl Chadstone had a revamp into a retro 50's style parlour. Also bringing in some new goodies including retro printed dresses and high waisted denim cut offs. The red stripped milk shake straws are the same style as the ones I had for my 50s themed 21st two months ago, so I clearly love this whole set up.
