Last Saturday I attended the Chadstone fashion stakes at the Caulfield cup preview. It was a wonderfully sunny day at Caulfield race course, filled with lots of spring fashion and good company.
The fashion stakes were in three categories, ladies aged 40 plus, stylish gentlemen and then finishing the afternoon with ladies aged between 18-40.
The lovely ladies from the 40+ category. The above photograph of the top three finalists with the host Jesinta Campbell (wearing Kirrily Johnston)
We then got a special opportunity to hear from Franco Schifilliti, stylist for Chadstone on his views of trends for the spring carnival season, demonstrating with real women rather than models.
The women are wearing Manning Cartell, Lisa Ho and Carla Zampatti.
Franco proved that it's possible for
women to wear separates to the races, with the Manning Cartell look and
surprisingly the Lisa Ho look, actually being a skirt and top worn to
look like a dress. I also love the colour of the Carla Zampatti dress,
it's kept simple which makes it all about the great colour and
flattering cut.
Franco also included this colourful menswear number from Calibre, showing that men no longer have to stick to simple black suits.

Vogue Style Workshop
Last weekend the Vogue style workshops were held at Chadstone, styled by the lovely Penny McCarthy. Decked out in a printed Witchery suit, Penny showed the audience how to simply change up an outfit by adding one new garment or a few accessories.
The stage included a little dressing area, where Penny styled models right in front of our eyes to show how quickly a look can be dressed up or down. The area included beautifully fitted blazers, metal accessories, statement necklaces and lots of shoes, all of which are available at Chadstone.
One of my favourite pieces is the gold peplum blazer by Thurley, which Alice actually ended up wearing to the Caulfield Cup preview we attended on Saturday. You can view her post with photographs I took of her here.

Wittner Runway At MSFW
Yesterday I attended the Wittner runway at city square for Melbourne Spring Fashion Week. The show included a mix of models and dancers to create a unique runway, showcasing the trends for Spring/Summer. It's all about the shoes!
Neon life
Athletic attitude
Sport luxe footwear, chunky sneaker style wedges. New styles are in lighter colours with peep toes for the warmer season.
Pastel dreams
Pretty pastel tones including mint and melon, in strappy styles and wedges. Peep toes are perfect for the Spring season.
Punk odyssey
Black with edgy details like studs, metal toe caps and cut outs.
Centenary Collection
In celebration of Wittner's 100 year anniversary comes this exclusive collection hand crafted with Swarovski crystals. Beautiful embellishment and colours.
Since majority of the outfit was black and white, I added this necklace and hot pink lipstick for a pop of colour.
