Sportsgirl SS12 Preview

On Wednesday night we got to attend our Spring Summer '12 preview. Spring is my favourite season of the year so I always look forward to seeing the new looks. The preview covered the key trends for the next 3 months, each including casual and day to night looks.

August - casual

Pastel Skate Girl

August - day to night

Exotica Girl

I love the digital prints featured throughout August, there's heaps more throughout the other months too! Plenty of exotic, floral and kaleidoscope prints.
 

September - casual

Mexicana Girl

-featuring exotic mexican prints, aztec, embroidery, coloured and washed denim

-strong use of colour including tangerine, turquoise, coral and chartreuse

-aztec print continues in the accessories, statement necklaces, rings and slings

September - day to night

Retro Daisy Girl
-retro girly silhouettes, including shifts, A line skirts and high waisted pieces
-key colours are pastels like mint, peach, lilac, lemon and baby blue
-featuring lace and florals

-pops of colour on accessories, soles of shoes and touches of neon on jewellery

-co-ordinated digital floral prints, in sets of shirts and shorts
-styled with retro shaped sunnies
-Lana Del Rey as main inspiration

October - casual

Hawaiian Surf Girl

-tropical prints in luxe fabrics paired with denim

-mix of traditional hawaiian prints and modern digital florals

-scuba fabrics and cuts

-tie dyed pieces

-key colours are blues, pinks, orange, coral and white

-ombre pieces, seen here on the knit paired with ombre washed denim shorts

October - day to night

Sanctuary Girl
-continues the hawaiian trend in more sophisticated fabrics and cuts including peplums and lace
-colourblocking in pastels
-key colours include white, pastels, aqua and purple tones
-paired with fine jewellery, pastel clutches and slings
 

September/October - going out

Golden Girl

-inspired by the gatsby girls, featuring flapper dresses and lots of embellishment
-mainly gold paired on black and white
-metal cuffs and statement necklaces in white, rosegold and bronze
